Free parking is available in the Riverside car park just across the town bridge. The main river is wide here and it is a wonderful summer venue with mown, comfortable swims in beautiful surroundings only a short walk from the car park. There is a good head of roach at Smithy's opposite the Falcon Hotel with hemp, caster and wheat working well. This stretch of the Great Ouse is also renowned for big carp to 30lbs which appear regularly. There are also many pike along this stretch of the river. The backwaters and boating pool are good winter venues for roach and skimmers. These are all dayticket waters.
