Founded around 100 years
ago, the society welcomes all to join, the residents
of St Neots and the surrounding area are really spoilt for
choice when it comes to angling. There are miles of mid
reaches of the meandering river Great Ouse, one of the longest
navigable rivers in the country. There are many tributaries
and backwaters of the river, many of which can be found in
the boundaries of one of the town's main tourist attractions – the
Riverside Park . This huge park together with the Regatta Field
offers dozens of comfortable swims along the main river and
numerous backwater swims for winter fishing. There is a free
car park in the Riverside Park and no swim is more than a short
walk away.

The club holds regular matches on it's waters, the newly dug
venue Pocket Park Marina (which is connected to the Great Ouse
but will be open all year round) featuring well with matches
being won with weights up to 18lbs. The club also has a stillwater
venue in Wilden Reservoir which is also one of the match venues.

The town is steeped in angling history, and the fishing club
in the past has hosted huge open matches with up to 250 anglers
competing. One of four times world champion Bob Nudd's favourite
river swims is next to the Coneygeare bridge, as featured in
his guide to pole fishing. John Wilson used to night fish Lammas
Meadow for bream in the 1960's. His autobiography has quite an
amusing story about cows on the common licking paint off his
mate's van!

The society's main aim is to promote local angling.
Annual adult membership is only £25.00, concessions are £12.50.
This is great value when you consider the variety of venues available
and that day tickets are £4.00 (£1.50 concessions).
